Rovell: This First Half Line is Primetime for Ohio State vs. Georgia

Trust me, I do love Georgia in this game against Ohio State.

The Bulldogs are the defending national champions and Kirby Smart's team is 27-1 in the last two seasons. They just know how to win and they have enough pedigree — even including an average Stetson Bennett — that they're still the team to beat across college football.

And I think Georgia wins this game.

But Ryan Day is notoriously gifted at adjusting his team on the fly. When adjustments need to be made, he's there, but adjustments are almost always needed.

That's exactly why Georgia has done so well in closing out games — but aren't necessarily fairly priced in the market during first halves.

Georgia is 6-5 in covering first halves, but its covered in just one of its last four games in that marketplace.

Georgia, a nine-point first half favorite, was up 17-12 at the half on Mississippi State. Georgia — a 13.5-point first half favorite — was up 9-0 on Kentucky.

And, before the SEC Championship Game against LSU, Georgia — a 20.5 point favorite — was only beating Georgia Tech 10-7.

The Bulldogs have proved themselves all season — but not in the first half. Their current line of -3.5 (-110) in the 1H market vs. Ohio State is far too generous — and almost ostentatious.

Ohio State at +3.5 (-110) at BetMGM in the first half is an amazing price. If you feel like you want something crazy, I'm not opposed to taking a shot at Ohio State leading at the half, Georgia to win for +550 at BetMGM, either.
