The ACC is set to give us another barnburner as the Syracuse Orange travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

The Orange started the season hot, but have gone ice-cold over the past month and have lost four straight games. The past two games have been especially rough as the offense has mustered just 12 total points. However, this may be the spot to buy low on the Syracuse offense.

As for the Demon Deacons, they have not been any hotter than their counterparts. Wake has lost three straight games, but it's not for lack of offense.

One of these teams' losing streaks has to end, but the good thing for us is that we can capitalize on both offenses' positive regression in this matchup. Let's dive in and see how we're going to do just that.

Syracuse Orange

Entering the season, there was optimism around Syracuse's offense as Sean Tucker was touted as one of the best backs in the nation. He's had a very successful season, but the offensive line has let him down, and Tucker has been unable to carry the offense of late.

Tucker is going to have to get things going in this matchup because the Orange offensive line won't be giving quarterback Garrett Shrader much time. Syracuse is 125th in Sack Rate Allowed and the Demon Deacons are No. 2 in pass rush.

So, the path for Syracuse's success is to get Tucker going early — which is possible as Wake Forest is 61st in Rushing Success Allowed — then utilize the play-action to create explosiveness.

The Demon Deacons are 79th in Passing Success Rate and 94th in yards per pass allowed. There will be openings for Shrader if he's given time to throw. However, they will have to throw for big gains if they are going to keep up with the Demon Deacons' offense.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Speaking of the Demon Deacons' offense, they've been prolific behind the arm of slingin' Sam Hartman.

The junior quarterback has been shredding secondaries as he's thrown for over 2,700 yards with 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Hartman should have plenty of success against a Syracuse secondary that has not been tested often through the air. If you look a the Orange's numbers against the pass, they are impressive. They rank 15th in yards per pass and are eighth in pass coverage per PFF. However, there is one glaring statistic that stands out.

They are 114th in opponent completion percentage allowed. Syracuse is also 30th in terms of opponent pass-play percentage. They have allowed a high amount of short passes.

However, this Wake Forest offense is vertical and Hartman ranks 11th in the country in yards per pass. This will be a massive test for the Orange, and it's one they may not be up to.

Syracuse vs Wake Forest Betting Pick

While both teams have been going through tough times, they should combine for a very entertaining matchup.

The Demon Deacons defense has proven very susceptible this season, and the Orange have yet to face an offense that offers this amount of firepower.

This has all the makings of a high-scoring affair, which should get us over the total.
