Bet To Watch

UConn Win Total Under 3 +105

We are now in Year 2 of Randy Edsall's second coaching chapter at UConn. The Huskies were generous with underdog bettors in conference play during 2017, going 5-3 ATS, including straight-up victories against Temple and Tulsa. But quarterback Brandon Shirreffs graduated, and the defense ranks 118th in returning production. Maybe that's a good thing, since the defense ranked outside the top 100 in efficiency and finishing drives.

My projections have UConn winning one game (Rhode Island) and a coin flip in two others (East Carolina and Cincinnati). Any other year, UMass would be considered a coin flip or victory, but this should be one of the best offenses in school history.

The percentage is so low on UConn getting to 4 wins, that we can safely invest in UConn Under 3 +105. In a best-case scenario, this ticket is determined after a loss to Cincinnati, but a pick'em line against East Carolina may offer the hedge opportunity if needed.

What else you need to know about UConn

UConn +23 is the right line against Central Florida to start the season. The Knights failed to cover the 39 points in last year's contest of this "rivalry game." The whereabouts of the Civil Conflict trophy are still unknown at this time.
