As the calendar gets closer and closer to November, the SEC race continues to get more interesting.
As far as the two teams in this matchup, Ole Miss remains firmly in the mix for a spot in the SEC Championship game, needing at least one loss from Alabama in the coming weeks.
For Vanderbilt, the goal has shifted towards fighting for its first conference win. The Commodores have been competitive in recent weeks against a difficult early schedule, but it has yet to translate to a victory on the field.
With Ole Miss currently sitting as a 24-point favorite and the total at 63, let's discuss where the betting value lies in Oxford.
After a 2-0 start, Clark Lea's team has dropped its last six games.
The non-conference losses to Wake Forest and UNLV sting, especially when you look at what the Commodores have had to deal with in league play.
Kentucky, Missouri and Florida are all improved from a year ago, and obviously Georgia speaks for itself.
Vanderbilt's inability to get any push from its offensive line has led to a really poor rushing attack, which has added even more pressure on QB Ken Seals to make plays.
Vandy ranks outside the top 105 in all of FBS in both Line Yards and Offensive Rush Success.
Defensively, Lea is one of the more respected minds in the business, but it has yet to really translate down to the playing field. There's nothing the Commodores do particularly well on that side of the ball, and during their current six-game losing streak, they have surrendered at least 36 points in every single defeat.
The task doesn't get any easier against the high-powered, explosive Rebels offense.
Ever since the loss to Alabama, Lane Kiffin and the Rebels have been quietly going about their business in SEC play. This team is flying under the radar a bit nationally, and it's still firmly in the mix for the SEC race, as well as the CFP picture.
The matchup in Athens a few weeks from now looms large.
This Saturday, however, it will be interesting to see if the Rebels can take care of their business against a lesser opponent.
Ole Miss has found balance offensively, hitting on big plays both on the ground and through the air in recent weeks. As mentioned above, there will be opportunities for both against a pedestrian Vanderbilt defense.
DC Pete Golding has his unit playing at a high level in 2023. Other than the shootout win over LSU, the Rebs have held every opponent under 25 points. They have also forced some critical turnovers at key points in both recent games against Arkansas and Auburn.
Getting into the Commodores' backfield and creating some Havoc will be the easiest formula for Ole Miss to create some early separation in this one.

Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss
Betting Pick & Prediction
It's always difficult to lay over 20 points at this point of the season, but I like Ole Miss to win big in this one. There are just too many matchup advantages for the Rebels to expect the necessary amount of stops from Vanderbilt.
Keep in mind, Kiffin still has Spencer Sanders sitting on his bench as the backup QB. If he wants to get Jaxson Dart out early to get some rest, it's not like he will be handing it over to a traditional No. 2.
Expect Ole Miss to pile on the scoring in all four quarters in this contest, and Vanderbilt won't be able to keep pace against an improving Rebels defense.
I'm going to go ahead and lay the 24 in a game I think Ole Miss can essentially name its score.
Hotty Toddy.
