Ever since Nebraska joined the Big Ten and a rivalry was created between the Cornhuskers and the Badgers, it has been a one-sided affair. Wisconsin (5-5, 3-4 Big Ten) has won 10 consecutive games in this series and has absolutely owned Nebraska (5-5, 2-5).

Saturday's matchup is important given the fact that both of these teams currently sit at 5-5 and are fighting for bowl eligibility.

Nebraska enters as a -1.5 home favorite with the over/under sitting at 42.5.

Can Wisconsin get it done in Lincoln and knock off the Huskers yet again? Or will Nebraska rise up and get it done at home for its sixth win?

Let's take a look at my Wisconsin vs. Nebraska predictions and college football picks for this Big Ten battle on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Wisconsin vs. Nebraska NCAAF Week 13 Preview

Wisconsin Badgers Betting Preview: Offense Locked Up

The Badgers played their tails off last week in Madison against the No. 1 Oregon Ducks and came up just short. It was an inspiring effort, particularly from the defense, which held a dominant Duck offense completely in check.

Unfortunately for them, there are no moral victories, and the close loss sent the Badgers back to .500 and still in need of another win to reach bowl eligibility.

As has seemingly been the case for years now, the Badgers offense is productive on the ground, while the passing game is largely invisible.

Part of that is due to the ACL injury to Tyler Van Dyke, as quarterback Braeden Locke continues to look somewhat lost in the passing game. He has also turned the ball over in seven of his eight games this season.

Locke could be in for another difficult afternoon against a physical Nebraska defense that can make plays and generate Havoc.

On the other side of the ball, Wisconsin has been very strong defending the pass, but it has shown some vulnerability in stopping the run.

The Badgers rank 111th nationally in Defensive Line Yards, and they're not generating the same push from their front four that Badger fans are used to seeing.

That could spell trouble slowing down the duo of Dante Dowdell and Emmett Johnson, who are both physical runners for Nebraska.

There's also some concern here for a bit of a hangover effect for Wisconsin after an emotional loss last week in what felt like its Super Bowl to get the season back on track.

Nebraska Cornhuskers Betting Preview: A Confusing Situation

Head coach Matt Rhule badly needs this game to end a four-game skid and get things back on track.

Another year in which Nebraska fails to make the postseason will leave the fanbase restless, even with Rhule finding plenty of success on the recruiting trail.

Nebraska has been a confusing team this season. There have been some quality results like a 28-10 win over a current top-20 Colorado team and a 21-17 loss to No. 2 Ohio State in a game the Huskers led late in the fourth quarter.

There have also been some troubling defeats like the 56-7 beatdown at the hands of Indiana and the home losses to Illinois and UCLA.

Freshman phenom quarterback Dylan Raiola has been up-and-down and is still searching for full command of the offense.

Recently hired offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen has taken control of the offense, so look for Holgorsen to introduce some new rushing concepts against a Badgers front that can surrender yards on the ground.

If Raiola can take care of the football, Nebraska has a path to plenty of points in this game.

Defensively, it should be an all-out effort to pressure and confuse Braeden Locke. I remain unconvinced that Locke can do anything when under pressure, especially in a hostile environment.

Wisconsin can't generate big plays down the field, so all it will take will be a couple of negative plays to force the Badgers off schedule and into uncomfortable situations.

That will lead to Locke forcing the ball into tight windows and the potential for scoring chances for the Husker defense — something they did last week as well with a pick-six against USC.

Wisconsin vs. Nebraska Best Bets, Pick

I believe this is the year the tide turns, and Nebraska finally gets it done against Wisconsin.

It's just very difficult to see any path to success for the Wisconsin offense against a good Husker defense playing on its own turf.

Yes, the Cornhusker offense has had plenty of challenges of its own, but the group has played much better at Memorial Stadium. Plus, Raiola is still capable of making plenty of throws down the field.

Points will be hard to come by in this one, but I trust Nebraska more than Wisconsin to generate some chunk plays and find the end zone.

Give me the Huskers at home as a small favorite.

Pick: Nebraska -1.5
