Freedman’s Favorite NHL Prop Bet (Feb. 1): Cam Ward Over/Under 30.5 Saves
- Over 30.5: -110
- Under 30.5: -120
The ice has been nice to us this year, and we've had success with Chicago goaltenders, so we'll stick with what's worked.
Tonight we have a great eight-game slate, which starts with the Sabres-Blackhawks matchup (7:00 p.m. ET).
While he's not the everyday goalie for the Blackhawks, Cam Ward is getting the start tonight, and his saves prop looks exploitable.
In the NHL Props Tool, we have Ward projected for a slate-high 35.3 saves. Two games ago, Ward played so poorly (six goals allowed) that he was benched in the third period, so there's always a risk that Ward might not play the entire contest, but last game he had 34 saves on 36 shots against.
For the year, the Blackhawks have allowed the second-most shots on goal at 35 per game. The last time they didn't have at least 32 shots against was Dec. 23.
At 30.5, I’d bet the over to -130. At -110, I’d bet it to 31.0.
The Pick: Over 30.5 (-110)
