The Islanders and Lightning have met in the Eastern Conference Final each of the past two seasons and will square off for the first time since Game 7 of their epic postseason series last season.
The Islanders can see the light at the end of their marathon, season-opening road trip and will play the penultimate game of their 13-game voyage.
Tampa Bay is on a seven-game point streak, going 5-0-2 in that stretch. The Islanders have scored the second-fewest goals in the NHL (27), trailing only Arizona, and have lost two straight games.
Lightning Continue to Improve
The Lightning are rolling despite being without star wing Nikita Kucherov, who will miss his 11th straight game with a lower-body injury sustained against the Washington Capitals on October 16. Tampa Bay is in fourth place in the Atlantic Division but has the third-best point percentage and has played the second fewest games in the division.
Tampa Bay was uncharacteristically bad at home, starting the season 0-2-1, but has gone 3-0-1 over its past four at Amalie Arena. The Lightning have the NHL's lowest home expected goals percentage (44.0), a fact that has to even out at some point.

Islanders Still Waiting For Home
The Islanders are making their second trip to Florida this season but first to Tampa since falling in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final on June 25. New York sits in last place in the Metropolitan Division but has fought admirably while it waits for its debut at UBS Arena on Saturday.
Unsurprisingly, the Islanders are the stingiest team in the NHL, allowing a league-low 28 goals through their first 11 games this season. But they've been equally anemic offensively, posting the fewest high-danger chances in the league (113) and the second-fewest expected goals scored (28.9).

Lightning vs. Islanders Pick
The Islanders and Lightning are familiar with one another after meeting in the playoffs two straight years. This should be a tight, low-scoring, playoff-type game, particularly since the Islanders are fresh after not having played since Thursday.
Still, the Lightning are the Lightning, and these odds are very enticing for a team that hasn't lost in regulation in three weeks. As long as the odds stay reasonable, say -170 or lower, this feels like a no-brainer.
