Check out our NHL on TNT Best Bets for Wednesday night's single hockey attraction.
Tonight's NHL on TNT slate features just one game:
- 9:30 p.m. ET: Chicago Blackhawks at Dallas Stars
However, I've got three betting angles for this game, which I detail below in our NHL on TNT Best Bets for this week.
Chicago Blackhawks @ Dallas Stars
Pick | Chicago Team Total Under 1.5 OR Dallas Moneyline + Chicago TT Under 2.5 Parlay |
Book | FanDuel, Bet365 |
Puck drop | 9:30 p.m. ET |
TV | TNT |
Chicago has struggled mightily in most situations, but things have been particularly awful in back-to-back situations, where the Blackhawks have gone 0-8-1 this season.
Chicago has averaged just 1.37 goals for per game on leg two of a back-to-back, which is part of the struggles we will target in particular here against a Dallas team that is very good at suppressing opposition chances in front of an elite goaltender.
Dallas has been one of the toughest sides in the league to generate goals against this year, and it's likely the Stars can make life miserable for a thin Blackhawks offense here.
The Stars have been in particularly dominant form with their ability to keep opposition goal totals down recently. However, Dallas' inability to score has been the reason for middling results.
Over the past 11 contests, Dallas is allowing just 1.72 goals against per game inside of regulation. It owns a stellar a 2.68 xGA/60 mark during that span, but Jake Oettinger's play has been a problem. He is allowing just 2.20 goals against per game, and a +19.3 GSAx rating
Chicago is priced at +138 to record under 1.5 goals, and that is my favorite way to back Dallas in this spot at a widely available sportsbook.
However, if you are a bet365 user, parlaying Dallas to cover -1.5 while also keeping Chicago below 2.5 goals at +100 is my favorite option.
Pick: Chicago Team Total Under 1.5 (+138) |
What is QuickSlip?
QuickSlip is an Action Network feature that allows users to automatically pre-load their bet slip at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Pick | Jason Robertson Over 3.5 Shots On Goal |
Book | FanDuel |
Puck drop | 9:30 p.m. ET |
TV | TNT |
JASON Robertson is coming off extremely frustrating nights versus Minnesota and Columbus, in which he generated 0 combined points and just five shots. Off nights are going to happen for all of the league's top superstars, but this is a smash spot for Robertson and Dallas' dominant top line to get right.
Robertson, Roope Hintz and Joe Pavelski have given the opposition fits over the past two seasons and have consistently produced shot attempts at a high rate.
Chicago will be in a losing battle in any matchup against this Dallas top trio, and coach Pete Deboer should be able to deploy his top unit into some extremely favorable matchups with last change tonight at home.
Chicago has also struggled mightily on the penalty kill, which is another area in which Robertson can thrive.
Robertson is averaging 3.87 shots on goal per game, but this is a smash spot for him to surge past that mark and cash the over 3.5 for us, and I would play this down to -130.
Pick: Jason Robertson Over 3.5 SOG (-130) |
Pick | 4-leg Bonus Single Game Parlay |
Book | Bet365 |
Puck drop | 9:30 p.m. ET |
TV | TNT |
Lastly, we have this lotto single game parlay, which is a fun little punt at +4000 odds and should only be staked extremely lightly.
- Patrick Kane Over 0.5 Points
- Chicago Team Total Under 1.5
- Jason Robertson Over 3.5 Shots On Goal, Over 1.5 Points
- Roope Hintz Over 0.5 Points
The greatest reason for this insane number is the fact that Kane has to record a point on what will need to be Chicago's only goal.
Kane has had two of his best games of the season entering this one, and if Chicago does break through with some offense, he is far and away the most likely candidate.
Dallas' top trio is likely to run wild in this matchup, which is the easy explanation for all three legs there.
If you wanted to go a less complicated route with a single game parlay involving just a big night from Dallas' top line, that is definitely a strong option.
