The Vegas Golden Knights and Nevada sportsbook operator William Hill US announced their new partnership Tuesday morning, paving the way for the first sponsorship deal between an NHL team and a sportsbook.
The fitting relationship between Las Vegas' first major professional sports team and one of Nevada's biggest sportsbook operators is said to be a multi-year deal that will "create exciting new engagement opportunities" according to William Hill's press release.
"The partnership will feature a TV visible dasherboard, in-arena signage, updated league-wide odds displayed on the in-arena Knight Tron during intermission, an away game watch party, and recognition on the LED ribbon board of the 'William Hill Line Change' when the Golden Knights make a line change during the game."
The announcement between the Vegas Golden Knights and William Hill US comes seven weeks after MGM Resorts partnered with the NBA for a deal that gives the casino operator access to the league's official data and intellectual property.
This historic partnership may very well open the doors for similar agreements for other pro teams in states where sports gambling has been legalized.
