Adjustments going into Game 2 should be to get NAW more minutes for defense on Kyrie Irving - it’s a simple fix with the idea that Ant Edwards should be conserving his energy on defense at the end of the game to close offensively. Didn’t work last game because Kyle Anderson ran hot in the 1st half stealing his minutes, none of the players got in foul trouble, & NAW himself couldn’t buy a shot to stay in the game.
Tonight, he should be in for an important role both defensively and offensively and even Coach Finch, who just spoke about him in his pre-game presser, has confidence in him knowing the shots will start falling, something that would be great to count on adding another threat, since he’s been ice cold since G6 vs. DEN. #PlayerProps

This line is up 3 points from Game 1 but all of Kyrie’s scoring came in the 1H. He made just one FG in the 2H. He was highly motivated to attack Ant based on his comments and I think Minnesota will change some of the coverage on Kyrie moving forward. He’s been solid vs Minnesota but only hit this in 4/13 Playoff Games.

Outside of the shot selection, there are a few other modifications the Wolves can make in this game. One of those is the re-introduction of Kyle Anderson to the rotation. He was solid in his minutes and had 11 points, two rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes. Anderson was played off the floor last series, but he has a clear role here. His size is usable to defend Dončić, but his creation is more important. He can be used as a secondary facilitator to open things up for Minnesota and make sure it runs an efficient offense. His rebounds + assists line is set at 3.5 in Game 2, and I'll grab that over. When Anderson has played between 10 and 17 minutes this season, he has averaged 4.6 RA and is 12-of-18 on this line. This season during the playoffs, he is averaging 4.6 RA, but that includes a few games with 4.9, 6.2 and 4.1 minutes played.

🎙️ Cash That Podcast listeners grabbed this at 19.5 but fine with 20.5 as well
Game 2 is a bounce back spot for the Wolves and Karl-Anthony Towns.
The Timberwolves’ offensive process was abysmal in Game 1 with the team taking over 50% of their shots from 3 point range. That is not what has gotten Minnesota to this point, and they were baited by a strong Dallas scheme into taking those 3s in Game 1 with their tired legs. I expect the process and gameplan to be better in Game 2.
KAT had all of the volume in the world in Game 1 with 20 FGAs and 9 3PAs - he simply could not convert as he scored just 16 points with just six overall makes. KAT has averaged 21.2 ppg this season and even though the output is down in the Playoffs, this is a better matchup for him and the 20 FGAs were the most he’s taken this entire postseason. Conservatively, he should take 15 shots which is his full season average. When he takes 15+ shots he has exceeded 20.5 points in 74% of games while averaging 25.2 ppg.
The volume is clearly there and this is a great spot for KAT to have a great performance against Dallas.

7/3/1/3/3 3pm in his last 5 games against the Mavericks. Better series for Reid overall with the smaller lineups the Mavs roll out. Really like that we’re getting +380 for this (would still play it in the +310)
