Football season has arrived in the Front Range and we should expect another successful year from the Air Force Falcons in the new-look Mountain West.

The Falcons are looking to maintain their consistent level of winning that they’ve shown in the past five seasons. Air Force has won 10 games in three of the past five seasons, so its 9-4 campaign from 2023 in which it lost four straight games to end the regular season was somewhat of a disappointment. Double-digit wins is the standard established by AF head coach Troy Calhoun, who enters his 18th season in Colorado Springs.

Betting the Air Force moneyline

The important thing to know about moneylines is that a minus (-) designates a favorite, and a plus (+) designates an underdog. Since San Jose State is on the road in this hypothetical and generally a worse team than Air Force, SJSU is a sizable underdog. The Falcons, on the other hand, are big favorites for the same reasons.

This also means that there is less value in betting on Air Force to win because it is such a clear favorite. If you bet $10 on the Air Force moneyline and the Falcons won, you would win $3.33 with a total payout of $13.33. Betting Air Force point spreads

Point spread bets are all about how much a team wins or loses by. These wagers are pretty much the essence of sports betting because the bettor attempts to gauge exactly how a team is.

Betting the Air Force total

Total bets, or over/unders, are the third major betting market in college football. These wagers are just trying to guess whether the final score finishes above or below the listed score projection on a given sportsbook.

If the hypothetical San Jose State at Air Force game total is listed at 44.5 points, a 21-17 final score would hit the “under”, while a 27-20 final score would hit the “over”.
