Volume, underlying metrics, and opportunity have all passed the checklist, but results haven’t. In Game 1, Portis had a 42.4 2nd Half USG% and scored 15 PTS on 3-9 FG 2nd half shooting & in Game 2, Portis scored 14 points despite going 1-6 FG, in the 1st half, missing 10 shots, and losing 3:46 of playing time in a blowout lost. Both games he failed to hit a 3-pointer (-200 to happen tonight). This to me is a clear positive regression spot in where I see the team start to feature him more in the 1st half vs. a Pacers team that bleeds points in the paint. Additionally, Lillard’s Q1 PTS prop is at 8.5 PTS despite scoring 15 & 19 in the first two games. Should the Pacers make adjustments early, this should only help Portis get more looks to finally go over his points prop this series. #PlayerProps
