Celtics vs. Clippers Preview

The Celtics will face the Clippers on Wednesday night in a matchup between two teams that heavily rely on their talent on the wings to succeed. The Clippers have already ruled out Kawhi Leonard for this one, but do they have enough firepower to keep up with the Celtics?

The Clippers will be without Kawhi here. They have also listed Ivica Zubac as out, while James Harden, Norman Powell, Nicolas Batum, and Khris Dunn are all Questionable for this contest. On the other hand, the Celtics have listed Al Horford and Jrue Holiday as questionable.

The Celtics had struggled a bit relative to their expectations recently; however, they still have been dynamic with the league's second-best Adjusted Net Rating with the number 2 offense and number 6 defense, per Dunks and Threes. They are once again dominant despite the 13 losses. The Clippers have also been strong this year with the ninth-best Adjusted Net Rating but their offense has struggled at just 2oth – it has been their third-best Defense that is carrying this team to success.

Zubac is a key missing member for the Clippers. He has been tremendous this season with a +13.2 overall plus/minus with a +7.1 on offense and the team is 6.2 points better on defense with him on the floor, per Cleaning the Glass. He is an instrumental part of their team this season.

Celtics vs. Clippers Prediction

For this game, I expect Boston's offense to be overwhelming without Zubac and Kawhi's defense. The Clippers also allow the sixth-highest frequency of 3s, which fits into the Celtics' game plan. I will lay the points with Boston at -9.5.

For my same game parlay, I want to target Celtics ML, Porzingis 15+ Points, and Tatum 8+ Rebounds

Best Bet: Celtics -9.5 (-115)

Same Game Parlay Picks

  • Celtics Moneyline (-400)
  • Kriztaps Porzingis 15+ Points (-210)
  • Jason Tatum 8+ Rebounds (-210)

Parlay Payout: +154
