I finally knows what it feels like to be Eli Manning.
As a bettor, you need to be able to shake off poor bets, beats and even big wins with little to no emotion, other than analytically thinking through both the good and the bad.
On Sunday, we loaded up on Christopher Bell (66-1 to win, 16-1 for a top three and +675 for a top five), so his victory at the Daytona road course paid off handsomely.
But that is now behind us, and with odds available for this weekend's Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, it's time to turn our attention to that event.
And after looking at early NASCAR at Homestead odds, I just couldn't help jumping all over one driver at DraftKings.
NASCAR at Homestead Pick
I can't believe that Kyle Larson opened at 14-1.
I know, I know, Larson hasn't won at Homestead despite his incredible speed there (he has the most fast laps and laps led, combined, across his past four Cup starts at the track), and the lower horsepower race package probably hurts him a bit.
But let's not forget, Larson is now in the best equipment of his career at Hendrick Motorsports, and it's not like he was terrible at Homestead in 2019, his lone start at the track using the current race package.
In that event he finished last due to a blown engine, but still ran the fourth-most fast laps despite completing only 209 of 267 (78%) of the laps.
And remember, everything in sports betting is based on price. Would I bet Larson at 4-1 right now? Nope.
But the 14-1 currently available at DraftKings Sportsbook? Absolutely.
I could always be wrong, but I don't see any way Larson's odds are still in double-digits on race day, and frankly think this price will likely be gone very shortly.
So if you are planning on betting Sunday's NASCAR race at Homestead, go ahead and lock in Larson at 14-1 while it's still available.
