The Atlanta Hawks (19-18) and Phoenix Suns (16-19) will square off in the NBA tonight. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. ET from the Footprint Center in Phoenix. The game will broadcast live on NBA League Pass.

The Suns are 6.5-point favorites over the Hawks on the spread (Suns -6.5), with the over/under set at 237.5 total points. Phoenix is a -195 favorite to win outright, while Atlanta is +240 to pull off the upset.

Let's get to my Hawks vs. Suns predictions and NBA picks for Thursday night.

Hawks vs. Suns Prediction, Picks

Spread

My Suns vs. Hawks best bet is on Atlanta to cover the spread as steep road underdogs, with the best line currently available at FanDuel. But as always make sure to shop for the best line using our live NBA odds page.

Moneyline

While I will be taking the Hawks to cover the spread in this matchup, I will not be betting on them to win the game outright on the moneyline.

Over/Under

I'm staying away from the total in tonight's contest.

My Pick: Hawks +6.5 (-110)

Atlanta Hawks vs. Phoenix Suns Preview

The Hawks take on the Suns tonight, who are dealing with a variety of trade rumors and a rotation that is in flux.

The Hawks won their last game in dramatic fashion while the Suns are continuing their losing ways having lost 8 of their last 10 games.

The Hawks will be without Jalen Johnson (shoulder) for this one and have also listed Onyeka Okongu (face – Questionable), Bogdan Bogdanovic (leg – Probable), and Larry Nance (hand – Out) on the injury report as well.

For Phoenix, they will be without Royce O'Neale (ankle), but it will be interesting to see if they stick with their lineup change and continue bringing Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic off the bench.

Both of these teams have been below-average this season and both have negative Adjusted Net Ratings (Phoenix -1.5; Atlanta -2.4), per Dunks and 3s.

The Hawks have seemingly been able to beat and also lose to the best and worst teams in the league, as they remain one of the most unpredictable teams in the NBA.

The last two weeks have been brutal for the Suns' offense. They are scoring just 107.1 points per 100 and have a 1-5 record in their last six games.

On the flip side, Atlanta has had one of the worst defenses in the league and are allowing 118.4 points per 100. So, this matchup without Jalen Johnson may be just the recipe for success that the Suns need to get going offensively.

One player that has thrived in this matchup is Kevin Durant. He has averaged 33.1 points per game in head-to-head matchups against Atlanta since 2021. I'd look to add his points prop into a SGP here.

Further, despite the move to the bench, Beal still has seen 30 minutes in both games. His assists line is set at 3.5, a number he has now hit in both games coming off the bench with 5 and 5 on 9 and 8 potentials.

Couple that with his history against Atlanta of 10 and 9 assists when he's played with KD and Book, and I like the over on his assists prop tonight.

Hawks vs. Suns Best Bets, Predictions

The Suns may have a higher ceiling given their top-end talent on any given night. However, with the roster in flux and the difficulty they have had recently, the Hawks are not a team they want to play right now.

Although Jalen Johnson is incredibly valuable to Atlanta, his production is somewhat replaceable with De'Andre Hunter and Bogdanovic.

I'll grab the points with the road underdogs, considering the Suns are just 7-13 ATS as favorites, while the Hawks are 11-10 as underdogs.

For my same game parlay, I'll take Durant 25+ Points, Hunter 15+ Points, and Beal 3+ Assists.

Best Bet: Hawks +6.5

Suns vs. Hawks Parlay Picks

  • Kevin Durant 25+ Points (-170)
  • De'Andre Hunter 15+ Points (-250)
  • Bradley Beal 3+ Assists (-275)

Parlay Payout: +185
