On Thursday night, the Penn State Nittany Lions will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the CFP semifinals. The winner will advance to the College Football Playoff National Championship to take on either Ohio State or Texas.

While Ohio State-Texas might feature more points, this one will be focused on defense.

This is a highly-anticipated matchup between Notre Dame and Penn State. These two teams have had the strongest defenses in the CFP thus far.

I expect a tightly contested game with two of the best red-zone defenses going head-to-head.

The Irish are in the top 10 on defense in nearly every category, including third-down conversions, passing yards, yards per play, points allowed and turnovers.

Offensively, they're led by Riley Leonard at quarterback and thrive on long, clock-consuming drives.

Penn State is just as tough and is known for its aggressive pass rush coupled with a shutdown secondary.

I don’t see either of these teams moving the ball effectively, and we should see plenty of long, sustained drives that may end in field goals instead of touchdowns.

I expect the first team to score 20 points will win the game. The under 45.5 has a ton of value tonight, so I'll gladly lock this in.

Pick: Under 45.5
