The Denver Broncos (9-5) and Los Angeles Chargers (8-6) will face off on Thursday Night Football in NFL Week 16 at SoFi Stadium at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
Beyond spread and total bets, I'm looking at Broncos vs. Chargers anytime touchdown scorers and have a pick for each team on Thursday Night Football.
Here are my two anytime touchdown scorer bets for tonight.
Broncos vs. Chargers Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks
- Courtland Sutton (+185, bet365)
- Marvin Mims (+550, bet365)
With six touchdowns already under his belt, Courtland Sutton is an intriguing option for an anytime touchdown bet. He leads his team with 19 red-zone targets (ninth in the NFL), highlighting his critical role in high-stakes situations.
The Chargers are an intriguing matchup for Sutton. They rank first in defensive DVOA against short passes but drop to 20th when defending the deep ball. Meanwhile, Sutton leads his team in average depth of target (aDOT) which, given the Chargers' vulnerability to longer throws, could spell trouble for L.A.'s defense.
The Chargers are coming off a challenging game in which they allowed two long touchdowns to Mike Evans, exposing their struggles against deep threats. Over the past five games, the Chargers have allowed five touchdown passes of 30 or more yards to wide receivers.
Betting on Sutton at +185 offers a promising opportunity as his abilities align perfectly with the areas where the Chargers have been most vulnerable.
That's also why I’m taking a long shot on wide receiver Marvin Mims as an anytime touchdown scorer at +550.
The Chargers have allowed 16 touchdowns to wide receivers this year, ranking 26th in the NFL.
Mims has been highly effective against zone defenses, leading the Broncos in target share and yards-per-route-run. The Chargers play zone coverage at a top-five rate in the NFL, so Mims is positioned perfectly to take advantage.
He has decent target depth and has already demonstrated his knack for explosive plays, notably with a 93-yard touchdown catch against the Browns. When you factor in the fact that he’s also the Broncos' kick returner, I like my chances for him to score again in Week 16.
Those are my two picks and both bets are tracked in the Action Network app. Bonne Chance!
