Let's get into my Eagles vs Panthers predictions and NFL picks.

The Eagles are favored by 14 points with the game total set at 45 points scored. The Eagles are -850 favorites to win outright, while the Panthers are +575 to pull off the upset.

The Panthers lost 26-23 in overtime to the Buccaneers last week. Bryce Young continues to play better, though, and had 298 yards without committing a turnover. The Eagles won 24-19 over the Ravens and have won 8 straight games. Jalen Hurts only threw for 118 yards, but Saquon Barkley ran for 107 and scored a touchdown.

Panthers vs. Eagles Prediction

Against the Spread

I don't want to lay two touchdowns points with the Eagles, so I'm going to bet the second-half spread.

The trends work in our favor, as I will explain below, so I will lay up to seven points on the Eagles in the second half.

My Pick: Eagles 2H -6.5

Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles

There has been a lot of talk about Bryce Young’s improvement since he returned as the Panthers’ starting quarterback. He’s completing 60% of passes with six touchdowns and three interceptions over those five games.

I’m not completely sold yet, and I'm not sure how much of that is down to actual improvement from Young compared to the competition he’s faced.

This matchup will not be an easy one for him.

There are still major concerns with the Panthers defense, which ranks 30th in overall DVOA, 29th against the pass and 31st against the run.

Over the last six games, the Eagles have thrived. They’re near the top of the NFL in almost every stat, especially when A.J. Brown is healthy and on the field.

The Eagles should run all over the Panthers; Saquon Barkley’s rushing yards total is an absurd 115.5, which is the highest of the season so far. Given Barkley’s recent form, it makes sense.

The Panthers are bad in the first half, but the Eagles offense is just 18th in DVOA in the first half compared to second in the second half. Specifically, Philadelphia ranks 29th in the first quarter.

So let’s avoid that all together and back the Eagles in the second half, when they’re 9-3 against the spread this season. Conversely, the Panthers are 4-8 against the second-half spread.

I love getting Eagles -5.5, which I did on Thursday, because we avoid the huge 13-point spread and avoid the key numbers of six and seven.

My Pick: Eagles 2H -6.5
