The San Francisco 49ers (6-8) and Miami Dolphins (6-8) will face off in NFL Week 16. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The game will be broadcast live on CBS and can be streamed on Paramount+.
The Dolphins are favored by 1 point over the 49ers with the game total set at 44.5 points scored. The Dolphins are -120 favorites to win outright, while the 49ers are +100 to pull off the upset.
The 49ers remain in playoff contention despite losing last week to the Rams. Brock Purdy was uninspiring, going 14-for-31 through the air for 142 yards and an interception. The Dolphins, also not yet eliminated from the playoffs, are coming off a loss as well, dropping their last contest to the Texans. Miami has a number of key players dealing with injuries, notably Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle and Terron Armstead.

49ers vs. Dolphins NFL Week 16 Preview
The 49ers are in the midst of a season from hell, but in this spot, I'm taking them at +1.5.
When you look at the 49ers and some of the issues they've dealt with, a lot of them can be pointed toward one specific thing — injuries.
Christian McCaffrey missed most of the season and was ineffective in the few games he played, Brock Purdy dealt with a shoulder issue, Brandon Aiyuk was lost early in the season, Nick Bosa's been dealing with hip and oblique injuries, Trent Williams has been dealing with an ankle. It goes on and on for San Francisco on the injury front.
San Francisco's also played in a few bad-weather games.
Over its last four contests, you had a weather game against the Rams and another weather game against the Bills — the 49ers were blown out in both of those. Then there was a game against the Packers that featured both weather and backup quarterback Brandon Allen. Before that stretch, they were also just blowing close games that featured some bad luck.
I have the 49ers power rated ahead of the Dolphins by a couple of points.
Miami is now getting to the point where its injuries are adding up while San Francisco is getting a little bit healthier. The 49ers are still is missing some key guys, but it's not great on the Dolphins side.
Like, is Terron Armstead playing again this season? Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are also dealing with ailments.
Opposing defenses seem to have figured out the Dolphins. I think the Texans' game plan against Miami last week is something you're going to see a lot more of.
There's just something off with the Dolphins. They lack explosiveness on offense despite all the speed they possess. They also just struggle against quality competition.
The 49ers have not been good this year, at least not by record. But you look at the Dolphins and they don't exactly have an impressive resumé.
They've defeated the Raiders, the Jets in overtime (probably should have lost) and the Patriots twice. They beat the Jaguars in their first game of the season by three points. Outside of a victory against the Rams when they were 2-6 and the season was on the line, the Dolphins have no good wins. Not only that, four of their six wins have come in one-possession games.
On defense, the Dolphins have been just as disappointing. There's talent there with players like Jalen Ramsey, but guys are just wide open for the other team more times than not.
I'll take the San Francisco team that's getting healthier on defense and knows how to scheme against Tua Tagovailoa with a banged-up Jaylen Waddle, who might not even play, and a Miami team that has largely disappointed beyond the win over the Rams.
Weather shouldn't be a factor in this one with the forecast calling for minimal winds in 70-degree weather.
My Pick: 49ers +1.5
