Belgium -1.5 vs. Spain
Wednesday, Aug. 7 · 8:30 a.m. ET
Belgium was a team that barely made it out of its group.
Spain was successful in its group, but it barely beat Puerto Rico, winning by only one point in a game that was a comeback effort against a team it should've convincingly handled.
In Spain's first Olympic game against China, China was winning for the majority of the game. Instead, Megan Gustafson pushed that game to overtime and stole that victory.
Emma Meesseman has been really good for Belgium, as she's the leading scorer in the entire tournament. I think Belgium is better than how it's played so far.
I like the Belgians to beat Spain, which I've been underwhelmed by even though I know it's a dangerous team.
France -3 vs. Germany
Wednesday, Aug. 7 · 12 p.m. ET
I'm fine with taking France at -3, which is probably what I'm going to do.
Germany's been really good and performed well in group play, but France has impressed me the most outside of Team USA, which I don't think has played great ball at all times.
I think France is better with home-court even though it did just lose at home to Australia. However, I still like France to win this quarterfinal matchup.
I probably want to get it now before the spread moves to -4 or -4.5.
This could be a very close game, especially with the way Germany has been playing. Still, I'm willing to take the home team at -3.
Breanna Stewart to Lead Tournament in Scoring (+410)
By Joe Dellera
When you look at the matchup for most points on Team USA, it's really between A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart.
Wilson is at -150, while Stewart is at +118. They're both tied in total points at 61.
You can get Stewart for +410 to lead the entire tournament right now. I don't think that's a crazy jump because even with Meesseman putting up these big numbers, it's still possible she doesn't continue to put up these performances.
I think there's a bit of an opportunity here to buy Stewart and corner the market after our best bet coming into this tournament was Wilson to lead Team USA in scoring.
Having looked at what Stewart's done, I don't think that's crazy, considering the fact that we know Team USA is going to play six games.
