Goals, goals and more goals are what Liverpool and Brentford promise. Two of the most effective attacking teams of the season will face off in Matchday 22 of the Premier League.

The Reds aim to bounce back with a win, while the Bees are eyeing a move closer to a European qualification spot when they clash at the Gtech Community Stadium in West London on Saturday, January 18, at 10 a.m. ET.

Here is my Liverpool vs. Brentford prediction and Premier League odds for Saturday's match.

Liverpool Prediction

Liverpool’s current dominance in England is undeniable. They sit at the top of the table with a four-point cushion over second place and a game in hand. They are also the team with the most goals scored this season.

However, Arne Slot’s side is coming off two consecutive Premier League draws. A 2-2 tie with Manchester United and a 1-1 result against title rivals Nottingham Forest showed that fatigue is a factor for a team competing in four tournaments simultaneously.

Adding to this, speculation about the possible departures of key stars seems to be affecting the team. The contract renewals of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah, the league's top scorer, remain uncertain. If no agreement is reached by mid-year, they could leave as free agents.

On the positive side, Darwin Núñez is expected to get minutes on the field after serving his suspension, though Joe Gomez remains sidelined with an injury and Diego Jota is in doubt.

Brentford Prediction

Brentford’s FA Cup elimination against Plymouth, the second division's bottom team, was a tough blow for a club that recently brought its fans more joy than frustration. After being two goals down, last Tuesday’s draw against Manchester City once again showcased the resilience of this gritty side.

Sitting in 10th place in the Premier League, the Bees are closer to dreaming of a historic European qualification than worrying about relegation. They are the fifth-best-scoring team in the league but aren’t higher in the table because their defense is one of the worst among teams outside the relegation zone.

The main contributors to their strong campaign are forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, now the leading scorer in Brentford’s Premier League history with 37 goals, overtaking Ivan Toney. Together, they form a lethal attacking duo that has proven it can perform against the league’s top teams.

Injuries have hit Thomas Frank’s squad hard. Igor Thiago, Aaron Hickey, Kristoffer Ajer, Ethan Pinnock, and Josh Dasilva are all expected to miss the match, while Rico Henry remains doubtful.

Liverpool vs. Brentford Prediction

Brentford have managed to earn only one point from their last three home games, a sharp contrast to the 22 points they collected from their first eight home matches. Nevertheless, their potent attack will be a major test for Liverpool’s defense, which often finds itself outnumbered during transitions.

Additionally, the Reds will have one eye on Tuesday’s Champions League match against Lille at Anfield. Practically without rest, Liverpool faces a grueling stretch of nine matches in one month, including an EFL Cup semifinal where they’ll try to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Tottenham.

Even so, this Liverpool side seems unstoppable. Their tactical cohesion provides them with enviable consistency compared to their rivals. While they may not have the depth of other big teams, every player knows their role to perfection.

For these reasons, this match promises to be thrilling, with action in both penalty areas. But Slot’s team has the players and the extra motivation to secure all three points on the road.

Liverpool vs. Brentford Pick: Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals
