FanDuel and DraftKings are continuing with their promotional roll out in North Carolina with a set of positive expected value plays on Wednesday night.
FanDuel is giving every customer a 50% profit boost for bets -200 or longer. Max bets will vary across accounts, but most customers will get something between the $25 and $100 range.
The positive expected value play here is to target underdogs. You're getting more value for your profit boost there.
For instance, if a bet at +200 is boosted 50%, it's boosted to +300 — a change in $100 in profit for a $100 free bet.
Alternatively, a bet at -200 boosted 50% would equal -133 odds, increasing a $100 bet's profit by just $25.
Make sure to target a line that is best priced at FanDuel in order to maximize EV. For instance, just because you have an inclination about a moneyline, don't bet it at FanDuel using this profit boost just because you have it. Only do so if FanDuel is pricing it best relative to the rest of your sportsbook options.
FanDuel is also providing users a no-sweat bet for all college basketball games on March 13. The max wager on these bets also vary — they'll hover around the same range: $25 to $100.
For these, the optimal strategy is to target bets between +300 and +600 for both the initial bet and the bonus bets, if you lose.
DraftKings is offering a 100% profit boost for up to a $50 wager. The same principles apply to this bonus bet — there's higher EV in the +200 to +500 range.
By that same ilk, make sure to price shop to ensure that you're betting this profit boost on a line that's best-priced in the market.
