White Sox vs. Astros — No Runs First Inning (-105)
Matchup | White Sox (Giolito) vs. Astros (Valdez) |
First Pitch | 8:10 p.m. ET |
Best Line | FanDuel |
On Friday, we will head to Houston to take a NRFI between two American League teams with their respective aces on the mound — the Astros and the White Sox.
Lucas Giolito has had a strong 2022 NRFI campaign thus far, going 8-2 while also going 6-0 on the road. The road NRFI dominance comes as no surprise as Giolito is now 20-3 when on the road since 2021.
Giolito has had success against these Astros hitters as he has gone 2-0 to the NRFI against them since 2021. Here is how the Astros hitters have done in the matchups:
- Jose Altuve: 3-for-10
- Alex Bregman: 2-for-11
- Yordan Alvarez: 0-for-3
- Yuli Gurriel: 3-for-15
Also, it should be noted Bregman is hitting just .167 in his last seven days, going 4-for-24.
Like Giolitio, Framber Valdez has had a successful 2022 NRFI campaign thus far, going 10-2 to the NRFI. When facing hitters the first time through the order, Valdez is holding them to a lousy .179 average.
Here is how Valdez has fared in the past matchups:
- Jose Abreu: 1-for-7
- Yoan Moncada: 2-for-7
- Jake Burger: 0-for-3
- Leury Garcia: 1-for-4
Despite the White Sox and Astros' first-inning averages being decent, they both are not hitting the ball with any sort of significance. Both teams in June rank first and second in soft contact rate.
Look for these hitters to continue the soft contact and for these two pitchers to continue their successful 2022 NRFI campaigns. Take the NRFI between the Astros and the White Sox.
As always, six outs to glory…
