After a come-from-behind win on a walk-off hit by pitch, the St. Louis Cardinals look to take the series victory Wednesday night over the Colorado Rockies.

Game two will feature German Marquez on the hill for the Rockies, and Jordan Montgomery will be making his third start for the Cardinals. This will also be Montgomery's third consecutive home start for the Red Birds.

The victory Tuesday night moved the Cards to 7-3 in their last 10 games, while the Rockies are 5-5 in their last 10. The Cards hope to extend their lead in the NL Central, while the Rockies look to play spoiler.

Can Rockies Get Their Offense Going?

The Rockies' bullpen implosion on Tuesday night has been par for the course for them this season. Over the past two weeks (not including Tuesday night), the Rockies had the highest bullpen ERA and the fifth-highest bullpen FIP. It seems like the blown save was bound to happen on Tuesday.

Marquez has shaken off a rough start to the season and has come on strong of late. Since July 10, he's posted a 3.11 ERA with a 3.78 FIP, and a majority of those starts have come at home. Marquez's struggles seem to be behind him, and he is tougher on the road overall, so the Cards might have their hands full.

Unfortunately, runs might be hard to come by for the Rockies. They have posted a 71 wRC+ on the road against LHP over the past month, and Montgomery has been on a roll in a Cardinals uniform so far.

Montgomery Shining in New Uniform

Montgomery has yet to give up an earned run as a Cardinal, and he seems to have gotten very comfortable pitching at home very quickly. His two starts came against the Yankees and Brewers, two teams that hit fairly well on the road.

Montgomery should not have many issues with the Rockies on Wednesday.

The Cards' offense has been one of the better units in MLB against RHP at home over the past two weeks. While they have not converted that into a lot of runs, they have created a lot of traffic, and the scoring opportunities have been there.

One concern is the Cards' bullpen has not been very consistent this season, especially their middle relief. While they do have a lot of arm talent, their inconsistency has been a cause for concern at times.

Rockies-Cardinals Pick

The pitching matchup may give the under of 7.5 runs some appeal, but both bullpens are too unreliable to keep an under intact. While Montgomery has been excellent so far for the Cards, he is due for some regression.

However, even if he regresses to an average start, he's still going to be backed by a really good offense, and he has a very advantageous matchup vs. the Rockies. Even if he is finally scored upon, the data does not indicate he would get crushed.

The Cards' runline opened at +105 at some books, and it should be taken as long as it's in plus money. However, it could be played at -115 or better.
