There are times to bet aggressively early in the week and other times to be much more conservative, and for me, I'm going the conservative route ahead of Sunday's NASCAR Toyota Owners 400 (3:30 p.m. ET, FOX) at Richmond Raceway.
Remember, just because odds are available doesn't mean we have to bet them right away, so I'm opting to wait until cars hit he track for practice and qualifying on Saturday morning to get involved at Richmond.
However, there are NASCAR at Richmond odds out there right now including four featured matchups for the Toyota Owners 400.
And like I said, I haven't made any bets yet for Sunday's race, but one featured matchup did catch my eye for those who do want to jump in early before odds go off the board for practice on Saturday morning.
NASCAR Pick for Richmond
*Odds as of Tuesday afternoon
Since we still have very little data with NASCAR's Next Gen car, I'm opting to lean on Richmond history a bit more because this track is so unique, especially considering that Ross Chastain and Tyler Reddick have both been fast to start the season anyway.
And when it comes to Richmond, Chastain has been the better driver over the last couple of years.
The Action Network's Nick Giffen gets credit for this stat, which helped me land on Chastain this matchup.
As a NASCAR Cup Series driver, Reddick's driver rating is 4.1% worse at Richmond than his average driver rating at all other tracks. On the other hand, Chastain's Richmond driver rating is 8.2% above his average driver rating elsewhere.
The bet: Ross Chastain (-120) over Tyler Reddick
