The 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) playoffs are just six races away and the sport's top drivers are doing everything possible to hoard playoff points and position themselves for a championship run.
Heading into Sunday's Gander RV 400 at Pocono Raceway, oddsmakers in Las Vegas have made Kyle Busch the favorite the win to the 2019 MENCS title.
According to the Westgate SuperBook, Busch, who is tied with Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Martin Truex Jr. for the series lead with four wins, is the clear favorite at 3-1 odds.
In a vacuum, 3-1 translates to an implied probability of 25%, before accounting for the juice (also knows as "vig"), which is the commission sportsbooks charge bettors to place wagers.
Truex and last week's winner at New Hampshire, Kevin Harvick, are next at 6-1, followed by Team Penske drivers Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano at 8-1.
Interestingly, seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson, who is currently 17th in the points standings and would not qualify if the playoffs started today, has the same odds (30-1) to win the 2019 championship as Hendrick Motorsports teammate Alex Bowman, who locked up a playoff spot after winning at Chicagoland Speedway four races ago.
Here's a full look at the odds to win the 2019 MENCS Championship from the Westgate SuperBook, as well as the implied probability (IP) for each driver after adjusting for the vig.
