Your gambling group chat thinks it can pick winners? It can't pick winners like three separate bettors did in the NBA on Wednesday night.
Three different players on FanDuel in Pennsylvania each hit the same six-player, first-basket scored parlay. That turned each of their 50-cent wagers into $130,284.
Each.
The improbable parlay came with +26056700 or 260,567-1 odds.
Gordon Hayward started the parlay off with a three-pointer in transition following a missed shot at the rim for the 76ers. That came 45 seconds into the game.
Bogdan Bogdanovic (+950) followed that up between the Hawks and Heat with a shot-clock beating, turnaround jumper 30 seconds into the game.
There was little sweat with Evan Fournier, who took the first shot of the game for the Knicks and drained a three coming off a screen just 14 seconds into the game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Christian Wood's bucket was even easier. The Houston Rockets ran a set play for the big man, posting him up on San Antonio Spurs point guard Dejounte Murray for an easy drop step and dunk.
The longshot on the card was Lauri Markkanen. It was also the sweatiest bet of the night. Five shots went up before Markkanen scored a layup on a baseline out-of-bounds play with 10:11 left in the first quarter. That's almost two full minutes before a score, including a shot attempt by Markkanen 45 seconds into the game. Never a doubt, though, as the +1100 leg cashed.
That led to LeBron James, the shortest number on the parlay, to hit a free throw 38 seconds into the Lakers game against the Sacramento King to ice the parlay.
