We enter unfamiliar territory with only one game on the NBA schedule tonight, but there are still a few player prop winners available for the matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons.
We'll be using the Action Labs Player Prop tool to compare our NBA projections to the props posted at a variety of sportsbooks. Below, I have laid out two prop bets that I'm playing, the case for each bet and the best books to find odds on those player props.
NBA Player Props & Picks
Luka Doncic Over 40.5 Points + Assists (-105)
Spread | Mavericks -8 |
Time | TV | 7 p.m. ET | NBATV |
Best Line | DraftKings |
All eyes will be on Luka Doncic tonight, and I believe he will rise to the occasion. Doncic leads the league this season in scoring with 33.6 points per game as the Pistons will have their hands full trying to defend him.
Detroit will be challenged as it enters with one of the worst defenses against the point guard position. In fact, the Pistons are allowing opposing point guards to average 26.3 points per game and dish out 8.7 assists per game.
Additionally, Doncic has performed at a high level against the Pistons. In five career games versus the Pistons, he is averaging 32.4 points and 10.6 assists per game. Furthermore, over the last five games, Doncic is averaging 31.2 points and 10 assists per game. He should also get to the bucket consistently as the Pistons allow the second-most points in the paint in the league.
Isaiah Stewart Over 7.5 Rebounds (-110)
Best Line | DraftKings |
The Mavericks are undersized in the frontcourt and have allowed an average of 12.8 rebounds per game to opposing centers. This should benefit Isaiah Stewart, who returned for the Pistons in their last game against the New York Knicks.
This season, Stewart is averaging a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game. In four career games against the Mavericks, Stewart is averaging 15 points and 11.3 rebounds per game as he has taken advantage of his physicality in the paint.
Stewart has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in three out of those four games against the Mavericks. Expect him to clean up the boards tonight against the Mavericks and don't be surprised if Stewart has another double-digit rebounding night.
