PointsBet is sending early payouts to Nikola Jokic MVP bettors, the sportsbook announced Thursday.

The NBA has yet to formally announce the 2021-22 MVP, though the Nuggets star closed as a -350 favorite to win the award.

"We are confident that Jokic will once again be named MVP and rather than waiting for the official announcement from the league, we have decided to provide an early payout for PointsBet users that have placed their money on 'The Joker,'" said Kyle Christensen, Chief Marketing Officer at PointsBet USA.

Users who bet on Joel Embiid, who closed second in odds at +300 to win the award, will receive a free bet worth up to $25 in New Jersey, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Colorado and West Virginia.

Embiid was the favorite in early March at -150 at PointsBet and is listed third in odds to win the award next year.

PointsBet is the first known legal sportsbook to pay out tickets.
