Texas A&M-Commerce pulled out a 76-72 overtime win over Incarnate Word and was in the middle of the postgame handshake line when a massive brawl broke out.
The full-team melee saw a bunch of punches being thrown along with a ton of pushing, shoving and tackles to the ground. The fight between the teams spilled into the stands. The camera angles didn’t show what occurred, but the announcers said that “someone in the crowd was hurt and hit.” Additionally, the broadcast also said a team manager had “blood on his face.”
Texas A&M-Commerce and Incarnate Word are both in the mid-major Southland Conference and have struggled this season. The Lions’ win moved them to 10-17 on the year and 4-10 in the conference while the Cardinals’ loss dropped them to 8-18 and 3-10.
