Dan Hurley's run over the past two seasons with the UConn Huskies will be one for the history books.
If the Huskies can get it done on Monday night against the Purdue Boilermakers, it could go down as one of the best runs in the history of college basketball.
UConn is 5-0 so far against the spread in the NCAA Tournament. Last year, the Huskies went 6-0 ATS in route to winning the national championship. If UConn can get to 6-0 against the spread, that will be a whopping 12-0 ATS record over the past two NCAA Tournaments, a feat that's completely unheard of.
In March Madness history, seven different schools have won back-to-back titles, with there being a total of 12 instances of back-to-back titles being won, including UCLA winning seven titles in a row between 1967-73.
UConn has a tall task ahead in order to cover a 6.5-point spread against Purdue. This is the highest point spread for a matchup between two No. 1 seeds since Duke vs. UConn in 1999 according to Action Network's Research Director Evan Abrams.
Hurley is on an unfathomable run against the spread. He's now 14-3 ATS (81.24%) in the NCAA Tournament, which is the highest win percentage of any coach in the tournament since the seeding era started in 1979. He's also the first coach to win and cover 10 and 11 games in a row.
It's not just the tournament where Hurley's Huskies can set records. They could also be one of the best ATS national champions of all time. If they win, they'll be 28-12 ATS this season, which gives them a cover percentage of 70%. That would tie 2018 Villanova as the best ATS record of all time.
Hurley has a chance to cement himself as the biggest money maker of all time.
