The clash between the Oregon Ducks and the Washington Huskies on Saturday evening could be the most significant college football game of the season so far.
Not only is it a matchup of two rivals ranked inside the top 10 in the AP Poll, but it is also a matchup of two quarterbacks ranked in the top three of Heisman odds.
Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is the current Heisman favorite at BetMGM with +200 odds. USC quarterback Caleb Willams is close behind at +225.
Penix is second in the nation behind Shedeur Sanders in passing yards. He has thrown 16 touchdowns and just two interceptions.
Oregon quarterback Bo Nix is closely approaching Penix and Williams. Nix is +600 at BetMGM to win the Heisman. Those are the only three players below +1000.
Nix has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the nation this season. He leads the nation in completion percentage (80.4%) for quarterbacks with at least 100 pass attempts.
Sanders, Williams and Travis Hunter are the biggest liabilities for BetMGM. Penix and Nix haven't been in the national spotlight as much as those three.
This is the biggest game of the week and the spotlight will be on these two quarterbacks. If one of them has a tremendous performance, they will likely be the Heisman favorite after this week.
Oregon vs. Washington could decide the Heisman.
