The Denver Broncos' Jerry Jeudy was carted off with a serious leg injury during Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Jeudy was tested shortly thereafter was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. While his X-rays came back negative, his current injury timetable is unknown.

The 22-year-old had led the Broncos with six catches for 72 yards for a total of 13.2 fantasy points for their Week 1 game.

The Action Network's Samantha Previte said while the diagnosis is positive given how gruesome the injury initially looked, Jeudy could be out several weeks and the ailment could even linger throughout the season or beyond.

For example, Saints receiver Michael Thomas is scheduled to miss at least another five games this season due to a high ankle sprain he suffered in September of last season. Thomas had already missed nine games with the injury last season.

"Best case, Jeudy misses a couple of weeks, during which time the other Denver pass-catchers, Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant, KJ Hamler and Tim Patrick, would be elevated," Previte said. "Sutton stands to gain the most targets for whatever time Jeudy were to miss and would have WR2 value, while Hamler and Patrick would also offer deeper league flex appeal. Fant becomes a safer play as a locked-in top 12 tight end, but all four are somewhat limited by the team's strong defense and Teddy Bridgewater's limited passing upside."

The Action Network's Sean Koerner said KJ Hamler and Tim Patrick are worthwhile additions in deeper leagues or if you're desperate at the wide receiver position.

"Denver’s passing attack is going to be limited as long as Teddy Bridgewater is under center, though," Koerner said. "Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant should both have a higher target floor going forward, making them a bit more reliable as fantasy starts."
