The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already lost Mike Evans early with a hamstring injury. Things got even worse in the final seconds of their 41-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens when Chris Godwin suffered brutal leg injury. It was gruesome enough that the broadcast refused to show a replay. The team announced after the game that he'd dislocated his left ankle.
Godwin’s teammates got down on one knee as the wide receiver lay on the turf in pain. He was eventually placed in a cart with an air cast on his leg.
The veteran wide receiver entered the game with 42 catches for 511 yards and five touchdowns. He caught seven passes for 65 yards before departing.
Tampa Bay has a quick turnaround before a key rematch against the division rival Atlanta Falcons. The Buccaneers blew a late fourth-quarter lead in their first meeting before falling 36-30. Kirk Cousins picked the defense apart that day as he threw for 509 yards and four touchdowns. The Buccaneers were 2.5-point favorites prior to the injuries.
