The Cowboys caught a lot of flak when they fell to the Eagles, 28-23, back in Week 8. Quite a few around the league dismissed them as frauds who fattened up on bottom dwellers but couldn’t hang with the NFL’s elite.
The Cowboys responded with four straight wins and made a major statement Sunday night, dismantling the Eagles, 33-13. Philadelphia entered the game with -475 odds to win the NFC East at DraftKings while Dallas was listed at +380.
The Cowboys, who were in control the entire night, are now tied with the Eagles atop the division with identical 10-3 records. The Eagles control their destiny despite the loss, as if they win out, they own the tiebreakers over Dallas. Odds at DraftKings reposted with the Eagles listed at -350 to win the division and the Cowboys listed at +270.
Philadelphia also has the more favorable schedule over the final four weeks of the regular season. The Eagles visit the 6-7 Seahawks, host the 3-10 Cardinals and have a pair of games remaining against the 4-8 Giants. Meanwhile, the Cowboys face the 7-6 Bills, 9-3 Dolphins and 9-4 Lions before ending the year on the road against the 4-9 Commanders.
Meanwhile, Dak Prescott (+325) and Jalen Hurts (+430) entered the game behind Brock Purdy (+280) in the race for MVP at Caesars. Prescott won the duel between the two, completing 24 of 39 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns while Hurts was 18 for 27 for 197 yards and no TDs.
As a result, Prescott leapfrogged Purdy and is now the favorite at +170 while the 49ers quarterback is +200. On the other hand, Hurts dropped to +850 and has the fifth-best odds behind Tyreek Hill (+500) and Lamar Jackson (+600).
