Update: The Falcons have a 17% chance to make the NFL playoffs entering Week 17, according to Action Network's Predictive Analytics team.

Update: The Falcons have an estimated 14% chance to make the NFL playoffs entering Week 16. They've fallen hard after leading their division in Week 13. They'll face the Colts, who are in the hunt for a playoff spot in the AFC and the Saints who are vying for the NFC South division crown.

Every time it looks like the Falcons are about to put a stranglehold on the division, they go ahead and blow it.

That was the case once again last week against the Buccaneers. The Falcons took a late lead with just over three minutes remaining only to let Baker Mayfield author a 12-play, 75-yard touchdown drive with 31 seconds remaining. In the process they ceded control of the NFC South to their rivals.

The Falcons have a 53% chance to make the NFL playoffs entering Week 15, according to Action Network's Predictive Analytics team. Atlanta’s best path to the playoffs remains winning the division. They’re tied with the Packers, Rams, Seahawks and Saints at 6-7, but only have the tiebreaker over the Saints in the Wild Card race.

The good news for the Falcons is that they have the third-easiest schedule the rest of the way. They visit the one-win Panthers this week before heading home to host the Colts. They end the year with back-to-back road games against the Bears and Saints. Additionally, Atlanta might have some positive regression on the horizon as it’s the fourth-most unlucky team according to our Luck Rankings.
