Which quarterbacks have the most favorable fantasy matchups? Who is the best streaming option? And who has a poor matchup?
Here's a breakdown of five of the top fantasy football quarterbacks, as ranked by Sean Koerner, Chris Raybon and Matthew Freedman in their Week 3 fantasy football rankings.
The No. 1 QB
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Mahomes is on fire through his first two starts, totaling 582 passing yards, 10 passing touchdowns and zero interceptions with an absurd 10.6 yards per attempt.
Our rankers all have Mahomes as the No. 1 QB, and our FantasyLabs models agree as he boasts a position-high median projection.
The Most Favorable Matchups
Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings opened the week as massive 16.5-point favorites over the Bills and own the second-highest implied team total on the slate (29).
Through two weeks, the Bills' defense has allowed six passing touchdowns, 7.1 net yards per attempt and a league-worst 3.8% turnover rate, according to profootballreference.com.
Cousins checks in as a top-five QB among two of our three rankers.
Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers
Garoppolo is off to a slow start this season, but he gets one of the most favorable matchups against the Chiefs' abysmal defense.
The Chiefs have allowed 860 passing yards through two games, 107 yards more than any other defense, and they rank in the bottom five in net yards per attempt allowed (7.6) and turnover rate (4.5%).
Garoppolo boasts a top-seven ceiling projection in the FantasyLabs models.
Matchup Downgrade
Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers will be tested against this elite Rams defense that has yet to allow a passing touchdown through its first two games. Granted, one of those games was against the Cardinals, but this defense is no joke.
All of our rankers have Rivers ranked 19th or worse in Week 3.
The Best Stream
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Fitzpatrick might still be available in your league. He leads the league with 13.4 yards per attempt and trails only Mahomes in passing touchdowns. The game against the Steelers could be a shootout as it opened with an over/under of 50 and has already been bet up to 53.5.
Freedman, Koerner and Raybon all have Fitzpatrick ranked 10th or better.
