Week 7 week concludes with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots.
I have one play from each team. These players aren’t the flashiest of names and are more bargain guys who could surprise.
WR Velus Jones Jr., Bears
Jones has seen his offensive snap count grow from 0 to 3 to 12 and his touches go from 0 to 1 to 2 in his first three games as a pro.
Two of his three opportunities have come in the red zone. With the Bears struggling to score conventionally near the end zone, the rookie may keep getting his number called on gadget plays.
TE Jonnu Smith, Patriots
Smith got loose for a 53-yard reception last week and is averaging 13.2 yards per catch on the season. He also has a couple of red-zone looks on the year.
The Bears have been below average at defending TEs, ranking 19th in DVOA, per Football Outsiders.
