The NFL Draft starts at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday night with the Chicago Bears on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick.
However, the draft doesn't truly start until the second overall pick. Everybody is expecting Caleb Williams to go No. 1 overall to the Bears and sportsbooks have those odds at -10000.
The No. 2 overall pick is a little more tricky. There has consistently been a back-and-forth on who the Washington Commanders would select between quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye.
Maye was considered the possible No. 2 pick before the draft process began. After Daniels won the Heisman Trophy, he started to shoot up the draft boards.
Fast forward to a week ago and Daniels seemed to be the likely candidate to go to the Commanders. He was -400 to go second overall at BetMGM. Then rumors started to shift in the other direction — Maye's odds of going No. 2 overall were growing and Daniels' odds were dwindling.
Maye moved all the way to +125 to go second overall while Daniels was -155 at BetMGM on Monday. As of Tuesday morning, Daniels is now the clear favorite to go No. 2 overall.
Daniels is -450 to go second at BetMGM, Maye is +350.
As of Monday, Daniels was getting 34.5% of the tickets and Maye was getting 27.6% of the tickets at BetMGM. Maye was getting more of the handle relative to his tickets. Maye accounted for 37.6% of the handle while Daniels was getting 52.1% of the handle. It can be assumed that Daniels has garnered significantly more handle over the past day to move him back to -450.
