NFL Player Props: Bet David Njoku In Browns vs Texans
Being named a first-time Pro Bowler, this will be a season to remember for seventh-year pro David Njoku coming into the playoffs. Already having a career year, the tight end closed the season averaging 78 yards per game in the five games playing with Joe Flacco en route to facing the Texans.
In their previous meeting earlier this season, Njoku failed to hit this prop, only reeling in six catches for 44 yards, but was targeted nine times, highlighting the upside was there. Instead, Amari Cooper exploded for a franchise-record 265 receiving yards, chewing up few possessions to gain ground on.
Now, with game footage to prepare, I expect a lot more defensive focus attention toward limiting Amari Cooper, which should open up space and opportunities for other receivers to step up.
Njoku figures to have the most advantageous matchup of the group, facing a Texans pass defense, giving up an average of 60 receiving yards to opposing tight ends (5th most). While not facing many notable tight ends this season, Evan Engram (67 yards), Kyle Pitts (87 yards), and Cade Otton (70 yards) were all able to eclipse this prop.
All that being said, trust Flacco’s next biggest target to step up when it matters most and build off his regular season campaign by going over his receiving yards prop today.
