You know things are going poorly for the Raiders when they're double-digit underdogs against a quarterback who has one career start. That's just the case, though, as Lamar Jackson will look to get his second career win (and first career cover) vs. Oakland.
On Friday, Joe Flacco was once again declared out, which briefly moved the line from BAL -10.5 to -10. However, that didn't last long, as the Ravens were back up to -10.5 just an hour later.
That was just the beginning.
On Saturday, they moved to -11.5 or higher depending on the book. Then, Sports Insights tracked a bet signal on Sunday morning that pushed them even further to -13 at many shops. Evidently, the pros don't seem to care too much about the lack of Flacco. Before the season began, Flacco was considered to be worth 2-3 points to the spread, but I imagine this line wouldn't go past 14 regardless of whether Flacco or Jackson were starting.
There has since been a bit of buyback, moving the Ravens back to -12.5/-12. A spread of almost two touchdowns was probably a bit much.
There is clearly no lack of confidence in Jackson given the professional support at such a lofty number. Jackson is also expected to be the highest-owned quarterback on DraftKings per FantasyLabs Models.
As of 10 a.m. ET, Baltimore is receiving about 55% of spread bets and dollars.
