Champions League Odds Update
After the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final, Manchester City sit as favorites at -115 to win. It’s hard to imagine another team taking down the Cityzens given their recent performances, but there’s definitely value in betting other teams to win the final.
Below I give a team-by-team breakdown of the top three favorites to win the Champions League.
1. Manchester City
Manchester City certainly deserve to be favorites to win the Champions League. They’ve won their last 10 matches, and in their last Champions League game, they kept Bayern Munich to zero goals. B
ayern were second favorites to win before the quarter-final, while the Cityzens buried three in the back of the net.
But it’s important to recognize two important facts:
First, if the Cityzens advance to the semi-finals — which they should as they sit at 3-0 aggregate heading into the second leg against Munich — they will most likely have to take down Real Madrid, the second favorite to win the Champions League.
Second, Manchester City have never won a Champions League in the club’s history.
While the Cityzens have shown the world why they’re favored to win this year, it’s important to note that the club historically has failed to go the distance.
2. Real Madrid
Real Madrid feel like real contenders to win this year. Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema and Rodrygo have developed into one of Europe’s most threatening and dynamic attacks.
After a 2-0 win over Chelsea in the first leg, it’s looking like they will advance to the semi-finals, where they will likely meet City.
3. Inter Milan
Inter Milan are on the other side of the bracket, away from the top-two favorites at the start of the quarter-final: City and Bayern.
After their 2-0 win over Benfica, they head to their home stadium to try and secure their spot in the semi-finals.
Inter will then either need to take down AC Milan or Napoli in order to compete in the final.
