Djokovic and Kyrgios have met twice before, though neither of their matches have come at the Grand Slam level.
Both meetings came in the 2017, with Kyrgios taking both encounters. He beat Djokovic at Indian Wells before repeating the feat in Acapulco. Kyrgios didn't drop a set in either match.
Djokovic and Kyrgios have dropped five sets each throughout the tournament, though the Aussie didn't have to play a semifinal match due to Rafael Nadal's withdrawal.
The duo used to have a bit of a rough relationship, with Kyrgios taking issue with Djokovic's handling of the COVID pandemic as well as his personality at times.
However, Kyrgios noted in his pre-final press conference that the pair now have a "bromance." Kyrgios notoriously defended Djokovic when he was going through his Australian Open saga earlier this year, and the respect between the players is now as strong as ever.
Djokovic and Kyrgios will take the court at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday.
