Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the French Open after an MRI revealed the 24-time Grand Slam champion had meniscus damage.
He took multiple medical timeouts and showed signs of pain in his fourth-round match against Francisco Cerundolo, but Djokovic was able to stage a classic comeback and reach the quarterfinals.
Here is what happens to your bets if you had placed wagers on Djokovic in any capacity.
Futures
The tough news comes in the futures market, as any wagers placed there are now losses at almost every sportsbook. There may be an exception out there, but the house rules of all major American sportsbooks would deem this a loss — both for title futures and to reach the final futures.
Additionally, if you had a wager on Djokovic to win his quarter, that is also now a loss.
Match Bets
If you happened to place a wager on Djokovic in his (previously) upcoming quarterfinal match against Casper Ruud, those bets will be graded as a void.
Whether you placed a wager on the moneyline, game spread, set spread or anything in between, all of these wagers will be void.
Casper Ruud is now through to the semifinals of the French Open, where he will face the winner of Alexander Zverev and Alex de Minaur.
