A new WNBA season is almost upon us, which means odds are starting to drop at sportsbooks.

At FanDuel, odds to make the playoffs have been released, and they show a number of interesting possibilities for the upcoming season.

Notably, the Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks find themselves in tough situations.

The Sky are nearly a toss-up to make the playoffs with their "Yes" odds sitting at -102 and their "No" odds at a slightly-juiced -128. Chicago hopes to be in the playoff picture when the schedule starts winding down without a number of their key pieces from last season.

The franchise from the Windy City lost star point guard Courtney Vandersloot to the New York Liberty in free agency, while two-time MVP Candace Parker and Azurá Stevens left for Las Vegas and L.A., respectively.

Despite the addition of Stevens, the Sparks find themselves in a tight spot as well. They're heavily favored to miss the playoffs (-590).

Although oddsmakers aren't on their side when it comes to the playoffs, it's highly likely they improve on a rough 13-23 season.  L.A. re-signed Nneka and Chiney Ogwumike and, along with Stevens, added Dearica Hamby and Jasmine Thomas to give new head coach Curt Miller plenty of options.

On the other side of the coin, there are four teams with odds of -180 or better to make the playoffs, including the Mercury (-5000), Dream (-590), Sun (-265) and Lynx (-188).

Meanwhile, four teams — the Aces, Liberty, Mystics and Wings — would be so heavily favored to make the playoffs that they aren't even on the board.
