"Streaming" quarterbacks, defenses and kickers has been a fantasy football strategy I've successfully used for years.
I've parlayed that success into a series of weekly recommendations for the top streaming options at those three positions, as well as tight end, which can be of assistance in a pinch.
The concept behind streaming is that you add someone for a given week based on the matchup, rather than putting the emphasis behind a player's long-term projection.
I’m only highlighting players who are available in at least 40% of Yahoo! leagues. Please refer to my player rankings based on your league settings to see who is the best available player in your league.
There are six teams on bye this week, which means we will have to go deeper in the player pool this week.
Howell is a fine streaming option for Week 7, as he has posted the QB11 score so far this season and is coming off back-to-back games of at least two passing touchdowns.
The Commanders have the second-highest pass rate over expected this year under new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. The elevated pass volume has given Howell a nice enough floor where we can trust him as a low-end QB1 option this week against the Giants.
Thomas is coming off a 1/2/0 dud last week. If we were to remove every TE from consideration who has posted up a dud this year, there wouldn’t be anyone left to choose from. Sometimes we have to roll with a TE coming off a bad game.
It was a bit of a weird game script for the Commanders in Atlanta, where they had a two-score lead for much of the game while also getting dominated in time of possession (only possessing the ball for 23 minutes).
Thomas still has the underlying usage to support low-end TE1 status in what has been a very pass-heavy offense this season.
There are essentially dozens of steaming options at K this week. Maher is by no means a slam dunk, and we will want to double check my rankings closer to lock time to see which K is ranked the highest that is available in your league.
Here, though, the Rams could be pretty one-dimensional this week without their top two RBs. That could cause them to stall once they get into field goal range.
The Rams have the seventh-highest team total this week, so Maher should see plenty of kicking opportunities either way.
The Seahawks defense is finally healthy, and this is the perfect time to fire them up.
Josh Dobbs has the sixth-highest turnover-worthy play rate, and the Seahawks should be able to get a big enough lead to force Arizona into a pass-heavy game script. That'll allow for more opportunities for the Seahawks defense to generate fantasy points.
