The Houston Open tees off this Thursday morning from Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston.
Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite for the Houston Open at +350 odds, according to DraftKings. Right behind him is Rory McIlroy at +700. McIlroy is coming off of a victory two weeks ago at The Players Championship.
The odds drop off drastically behind the two favorites, with Aaron Rai next up on the odds board at +2800, followed by three golfers at +3000.

2025 Houston Open Picks
Aaron Rai isn't a bomber off the tee, but he makes up for it with accuracy and elite long iron play. Despite below-average driving distance, he routinely gains strokes off the tee because he hits so many fairways.
There are few on tour with better approach numbers, especially with long irons.
He has an excellent track record in Texas and seems to love this course, as he's finished T7, T7, and T19 here the last three years.
He picked up his first win in the fall and just posted back-to-back top-15 finishes in really strong fields at The Players Championship and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
I love the way this course sets up for Davis Thompson. While iron play is always important, it's not as critical here as some of the other courses in the PGA Tour rotation.
Thompson's biggest strengths are off the tee and around the green. This is a driver-heavy courses with greens that are difficult to hit in regulation.
He's made the cut in both of his appearances at this event and finished T21 here last year. His form has been hit or miss, but he does have two solid finishes in his last four starts — a T10 at The Players Championship and a T13 at the Genesis Invitational.
I know Maverick McNealy was terrible in his two Florida starts, but perhaps the California native doesn't love playing in the Sunshine State.
Prior to that, he had a string of solid finishes that included a win at the RSM Classic and top 10s at the Genesis Invitational, the Waste Management Open, and the Sentry.
He's long off the tee, he's elite around the greens, and he's an excellent putter. His approach game can be spotty at times, but you can get away with that at this course.
He's 3-for-3 at this event with all top 30 finishes and is one of the best in the field in strokes gained per round in windy conditions.
2025 Houston Open Course Preview
Memorial Park Golf Course has hosted the Houston Open in four of the last five years. It has played extremely tough, ranking 12th, 11th, 9th, and 8th in difficult those years. It's a unique par-70 layout in that it has five par 3s and three par 5s on the scorecard. It measures nearly 7,500, so it's one of the longest courses on tour when you adjust for par.
The fairways here are generous in size (33 yards wide on average) but difficult to hit. This is a driver-heavy course, so it's no surprise that the list of winners here includes Tony Finau, Stephan Jaeger, and Jason Kokrak. The penalty for missing fairways is low and the driving driving distance here last year was 303 yards, so it's bombs away this week.
The greens are large (7,000 square feet on average) but difficult to hit in regulation. Given the length of the course, there are a lot of mid- and long-iron approach shots here. In 2024, 38% of approach shots came from 150-200 yards and 34% of approach shots came from 200+ yards.
