When the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros take the field for Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday night, bettors will be rooting for offense.
Not only have sharps targeted the over, but the prop betting market is getting hit with overs on Yordan Alvarez, Freddie Freeman and more.
According to data released by BetMGM on Tuesday morning, the most popular prop bet on Game 1 is a longshot bet of Astros teammates Alvarez, Jose Altuve and Michael Brantley each recording at least two hits. If all three tally at least two hits apiece, bettors will cash in at +850 odds (bet $100, profit $850).
Alvarez, the ALCS MVP, raked in the series against Boston, recording at least two hits in each of the final three games including a 4-for-4 performance in the deciding Game 6. He's hitting .441 this postseason.
Brantley recorded two hits twice against Boston and four times this postseason in total while hitting .311. Altuve has just one multi-hit game during the playoffs and has struggled overall, hitting just .200.
The second most-popular player prop is the Braves superstar to contribute to Atlanta's scoring. Freeman to score at least two runs comes with a juicy price of +425. However, Freeman has done that just once this postseason and overall has scored just six times in 10 games. His .455 on-base percentage during the playoffs suggests he'll be on the bases plenty, but it's up to his teammates to drive him in most of the time.
Finally, bettors are hoping the Braves get to Houston starter Framber Valdez early. Atlanta to score first is -135 (bet $135, profit $100) and the most-bet game prop of the night at BetMGM.
Houston is -130 on the moneyline with the total either 8 or 8.5 depending on the sportsbook.
