NASCAR odds for Talladega don't move much from the market open to green flag.
Because there isn't practice at superspeedways such as Talladega, there's little reason for sportsbooks to make big adjustments to NASCAR odds. That's true for today's Yellawood 500 (2 p.m. ET, NBC).
Yes, lines do shift due to betting action, but we typically don't see the major swings that we do at most other race tracks.
I've already locked in one NASCAR pick for Talladega – Corey LaJoie +6500 to win – and am adding one beefy top-10 pick at +650 odds right now.
Below is the pick I'm making and the reasoning behind it.
A +650 Top-10 Finish NASCAR Pick for Talladega
*Odds as of Sunday morning
Anthony Alfredo will be driving the Beard Motorsports No. 62 Chevrolet, a car that has consistently overperformed at superspeedways, on Sunday afternoon.
Since 2017, this part-time team has secured seven total top-1o finishes at Daytona and Talladega, including Alfredo's own sixth-place finish at this track earlier this season.
In addition, Parker Retzlaff piloted the No. 62 to a seventh-place run at Daytona in August, showing that this car has plenty of speed right now on this style of track.
With a potential automatic berth into the NASCAR Playoffs Round of 8 on the line and plenty of stage points up for grabs, today's race could get wild.
I don't like "wild" as a bettor, so I will not have a big betting card for Talladega.
With that said, grabbing Alfredo at +650 to score a top-1o finish is enough value for me to get involved this afternoon.
