Philadelphia 76ers NBA Playoff Odds
How the Philadelphia 76ers Got Here
The Sixers have essentially been at the top of the East all season. The came out of the gate in a dominant way and it was clear relatively early that their best player, Joel Embiid, was on a mission.
Embiid put himself in the conversation for the league's Most Valuable Player with his monstrous offensive performances this season: He is averaging a career-high 28.5 points per game, fourth in the NBA, and has posted a 30.3 Player Efficiency Rating.
But the Sixers are not quite a one-man show and they proved that in the games that Embiid missed this season. During a 10-game stretch in the middle of the season where Embiid was sidelined with a hyperextended knee, the 76ers went 7-3 and showed they can still compete without their star big man.
Entering the final day of the season, the 76ers are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the best Defensive Rating in the NBA (106.9). While that hasn't exactly translated to unders — the under is 38-33 (53.5%) in 76ers games this season — the Sixers have been an outstanding bet at home going 28-7 straight up and 21-14 against the spread per Bet Labs.
The Sixers still sit behind the Nets in terms of their title odds, despite being at the top of the East standings. However, having home court advantage in the East gives the 76ers their best shot at making the NBA Finals in decades.
